Every child is made in the image of God, full of promise. But in too many villages, poverty decides what a child can become before they have a chance to choose.

- Unsafe water brings sickness.Long walks for water that is not clean cost children their health and their school days.
- Conflict uproots families.Some of our children’s families have fled violence and now live with almost nothing.

Pick a child who is waiting and commit to a monthly gift of $40. It takes about two minutes.
Connect
You receive a welcome gift with your child’s photo and story. Write letters and emails, and celebrate birthdays and Christmas together.
Watch them grow
Each year you receive an update and a new photo as your child grows, learns and finds their voice in the community.

Letters and email
Write as often as you like. We deliver your words, and your child writes back one or two times a year.
Birthdays
Send a card and we will make sure it reaches your child. For many, it is the first birthday card they have ever received.

Give $5 and our in-country team buys a gift locally, blessing your child and the local economy at the same time.

An annual progress report and updated photo show you how your child is growing.

A program of Bridges of Hope
Healthy Child Africa is a program of Bridges of Hope, a registered Canadian charity serving families in 21 countries for more than two decades. Every gift is received and receipted by Bridges of Hope and carried out by our team and trusted partners in Africa under written agreements.

How much is sponsorship?
$40 a month. Your gift helps your child grow up healthier and supports their whole community through safe water, food, education, mentorship and more. Canadian donors receive an official tax receipt from Bridges of Hope.
Does my gift go directly to my child?
No. Your sponsorship is pooled with other sponsors’ gifts to lift up the community where your child lives. This creates a bigger and longer-lasting impact on your child and on every family around them.
How much reaches the community?
We work hard to keep costs low. More than 80% of your sponsorship gift is sent to our sponsored communities. The rest covers administration here in Canada and in Africa.
How are children chosen?
We work with trusted partners in Africa who know vulnerable communities well. They help us identify the children and families who need help most.
Can I write to my child?
Yes, and we hope you will. Send a letter to our office in Lethbridge or email your child through our Stay Connected page. Small gifts that fit in a 5¾ by 8¾ inch envelope are welcome.
